Art embodies some of the highest forms of human creativity. At Hollymount School, we aim to engage, inspire and challenge children, equipping them with the knowledge and techniques they need in order to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As children progress, they are able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of Art and key artists.

Sketchbooks provide a non-judgmental space where children can build and improve their techniques, develop their art pieces and reflect upon their creative journey. The language of art, embedded as children’s knowledge and techniques grow, will empower them to express their responses to art and artists with competence. Children leave our school with a positive attitude towards art; being proud of their work and with a resilience to continue to build their knowledge and skills.
